Now it looks like the preliminary results are in, although the survey continues to be online (hm).

With the risk of becoming a bore with my obsession on survey reporting practices, I’ll say it again:

I hope the final report is going to include a detailed explanation of the survey’s limitations (self-selection, nonprobabilistic sample, lack of control over the survey instrument, etc.), and that the conclusions will be qualified.

I hope Cymphony and Porter-Novelli are not going to pull a Guidewire or an Edelman/Technorati with this survey. (If you don’t know what I mean, please follow the links below.)

Update: Jim Nail responds in the comments.

Update, April 6, 2006: My heartfelt thanks to everyone who wrote to congratulate me - by e-mail, via comments, or on their blogs - on my new job. I am humbled by your support and confidence and (while I don’t think for a second that I deserve the embarrassingly nice things you said about me) I’ll do my best to honor your trust.

<img class="alignright" "src="http://blog.basturea.com/images/converseon.gif" alt="Converseon logo" / />Starting today, I’m joining Converseon as Director of New Media Strategies (here’s the official press release).

I’ll be part of a great team lead by Rob Key, and I’ll do my best to help Converseon’s clients figure out this “new media thing.” It should be a challenging exercise to promote the values of the blogosphere (authenticity, voice, passion, openness) and the need to participate now in the conversation happening online, while acknowledging that it takes time to change the corporate mindset. No chance to get bored :)

I will continue to work on my current projects (the PR Blogs List and the NewPR Wiki, among others) and to write on this blog. And, generally, I will continue to be myself :)

Finally, a big thank you to all of those –too many to be mentioned here– from whom I’ve learned so much in the last three years. It takes a village to raise a person, nowadays :)
