Memo to PR bloggers: dig deeper, stop sending e-mails

After reading Julia Hood’s column in PR Week - PR blogs need to dig deeper than mainstream headlines (no link, it’s behind a firewall) - I’m just wondering:

  • what PR blogs are on Ms Hood’s reading list?
  • who are those spamming the editors of PR Week with updates about their new blog entries?

Since the column is accessible only to subscribers (and not to the average Joe or Jane PR blogger), my guess it that the column is really targeted to a selected group: the bloggers from (big) PR agencies (they are specifically referenced in the PR Week piece). Hey, I might be wrong.

Anyway, it’s funny to see someone from the mainstream media providing editorial guidance to bloggers (”write about this, enough with that already“). But it’s fair: the readers are always right.

Hat tip: Colin McKay

Update: Keith O’Brien has made the column available to non-subscribers. Thank you.
